Dec 17 – Mercury 29 in morning. ____ set saw. Sawed some wood. Went over to burg forenoon. Mercury 35 at night. Put front pannel in cutter.
Dec 18 – Mercury 35. Finished Streators cutter. Walter Thompson choped in afternoon. Nice day.
Dec 19 – Mercury 30. Fine day. Put in glass at schoolhouse in fore noon. Flanders paid one Dollar. Went over to see about tax 7.35.
Dec 20 – Mercury 3. At home. Nice day. Hannah went down to Caywood at night. Mr Hopkins buried to day, a colored man. Elder Hamlin Died.[101]
Dec 21 – Mercury 36 in morning. Very pleasant. Drawed one load wood. Not much sleigh.
Dec 22 – Mercury 39. Drawed one load corn from the field.
Dec 23 – Mercury 49 in morn. Took Hannah over to Lois. Fixed well at the Barn. Very nice day. Elder Hamlin Buried. Snow all gone.
