Oct 1 – Finished binding cornfodder. Rained some ledle mide.
Oct 2 – Took Sarah over to Hoags.[85] Went up to mill no see bub. Rained in night.
Oct 3 – Rainy morning. Went up to mill got some barposts. Went to the woods got some posts.
Oct 4 – At home. Some rainy. Jim had Hannahs carriage went up to Scots.[86]
Oct 5 – Cleaned up wheat. Went to mill.
Oct 6 – Made some bars to East lot. Cool day. Paid Charley Ford $2.40 cts for hay.
Oct 7 – Drew two loads pumpkins. Mary Austin and Mrs Gilbert called in afternoon. Rainy.
Oct 8 – At home. No work done Except chores.
Oct 9 – Nice day. Went to Kalamazoo to see Florence and Carry[87] they left on 2.15 train for home. Telegraph line cut. Heavy frost some ice.
Oct 10 – Pleasant. Picked one load corn.
Oct 11 – Warm pleasant day. Dod Sumners Baby buried to day. Telegraph wire repaired to day.
Oct 12 – Worked round barn some. Will and Lizzy went home to Reed City.
Oct 13 – Went down to Mrs Browns to get apples. To wet no got some. Jim drew two loads wood. Sarah went to Lois. Rainy day.
Oct 14 – Cleared out corn House. Husked load corn. Nice day.
