Sep 22 – Rainy. Ethan went on the freight. Left Muir half past eleven this forenoon. Hank has got an awful bad cold in his head. Ethan, Hannah and Fred Allerton expect to go home to night. Will get there about eleven (11) to night if they have good luck.
Sep 23 – Cloudy. J. E. Warner has a show here to day. I have got an awful cold sore throt. Hank and I went to the show. It was the best we ever attended.
Sep 24 – Cloudy. We wrote to Fathers folks to day. There is a horse tamer in town. He drove all around the streets without any lines. Hank & I have got real hard colds. Sprinkled a little to night.
Sep 25 – Cold & cloudy. I have baked some this afternoon. Hank has had his whiskers shaved off from the side of his face. I do not feel very well.
Sep 26 – Rained a little this morning. Pleasant but windy the rest of the day. Hank has taken a negative of Mr & Mrs Burt also one of Mrs Bements. We have printed some to day.
Sep 27 – Pleasant but very warm. Hank took in eight dollar and a half today. I put up five gems. I made two custard pies. Hank bought some sugar and cheese.
Sep 28 – Rainy. I was sick all night. Hank got up at two oclock and built a fire and laid hot cloths across me that made me feel some better. We are printing some to day. Hank got a letter from Uncle Hite[140] to night.
Sep 29 – Rainy. I worked on my black calico dress and went to the galery and staid this afternoon.
Sep 30 – Pleasanter. We got a letter from Ethan this morning. He and Hannah did not get home from G Rapids till the next week Wednesday. I finished my dress to night.
