Sep 1 – Pleasant, very cold last night. I made my black dress skirt to day. Hank has got the blues. He got som beats tonight, paid five cents for a peck.
Sep 2 – Pleasant. I have baked bread and cake. Hank feels pretty bad this morning. I wrote to Mary Plank to day. Hank got me some baking powder. Lucy gave birth to a little girl.[137]
Sep 3 – Pleasant this forenoon, rainy this afternoon. We got a letter from Ma & Ethan this morning. Hank and I took a walk up on the hill last night. It is the first I had been up there.
Sep 4 – Pleasant. Hank took in $4.50 to day. He got a peck of Onions and a pound of crackers. He commenced a letter to F– folks.
Sep 5 – Pleasant this forenoon, looks like rain this afternoon. We finished writing to our folks. Hank feels pretty bad. I feel sorry for him. Jimmie Sylvester[138] was killed while playing with the flat cares to night, aged nine years. Hank got two clocks to night, one for the galery and one for the house.
Sep 6 – Pleasant. I baked pies and cake this forenoon. Went down to the galery this afternoon. Stayed till about 4, came to the house and Ironed some.
Sep 7 – Rained a very little. I do not feel very well. Took a sit bath last night. Jimmie Sylvester was burried this forenoon. We did not attend the funeral. I was not well enough. Hank and I went over to Mr Abbys lumber yard this evening. I wrote to Pas folks to day.
Sep 8 – Pleasant. Have been to the galery most all day. Hank sent our letter to Pa and a paper to Father, also a letter to Dr Foot. Mr Long has had two gems taken this afternoon. I burnt three of my fingers this morning by steam.
Sep 9 – Pleasant. Baked pie to day. Went back to the galery with Hank at noon. We got a letter from Father and Mother also one from Loyd. He is going to be married this month. Lucy has got a little girl born last tuesday.
Sep 10 – Pleasant. Stayed to the galery most all day. Hank took in five dollars and took a 4 x 4 negative of Mrs Probascus little girl which will be three dollars more.
