Aug 2 – Henry here. Ethan helped him on his moddle. I painted cutter box. Worked on hub some. Mr Flanders came along, told of Mr Clintons Death.
Aug 3 – Henry Clinton buried to day. Went down to Catharines. Nice cool day.
Aug 4 – Worked on Hubbs. Fine day. Ethan worked for Brown. Mrs Brown here. Ezra came and got saw to to saw spiles.
Aug 5 – Worked on hubbs. Mart and Catharine here. I went over to burg with Mart. Eugene Crawford Came along. I rode home with him. They finished driving spiles for Bridge. Extracted tooth for Mart.
Aug 6 – Finished my Hubbs. Worked on wagon pole for M. O. Streators wagon.
Aug 7 – Finished Streators pole 1.50. Sarah went down to A. Browns. Nancy went. Had a nice shower.
Aug 8 – Worked on gearing. Ethan went to Kalamazoo with A. Brown. Ed Flanders came along, left his team here.
Aug 9 – Not very well. Made Spile driver for Jim. Will Clark here. Mrs Brown and Jule here in afternoon. Henry called here just at night. Went over to burg.
Aug 10 – At home all day. Not very well.
Aug 11 – Worked on Jims Driver some. Worked on gearing some. Went over to burg in forenoon.
Aug 12 – Went down to Marts. Got some Baswood boards. Ethan henry went to Kalamazoo.
Aug 13 – Went over to burg with Edwin Flanders. Picknick up in Jesse Earls woods.
Aug 14 – Cut my cornfodder. Henry here to work on Hotell starter.
Aug 15 – Henry and Ethan at work at Hotel Starter. I finished Jims Driver.
Aug 17 – Hannah and Adelpha came up. Mr Alfred buried to day.
Aug 18 – Went to Comstock to mill. Got 4 bushels and 14 pounds of wheat of Mart Milham. Will and Cary Plank came here.
Aug 19 – Packed up Nancys things and carried them over to burg. I went up to Hawleys to tell him about Murphys farm.
Aug 20 – Made Door frame for butry door. Lois came up, stayed all night. First team[tram?] crossed new Bridge to night about dark. Very hot, 98 in shade.
Aug 21 – Put netting on Door frame. Ethan, Lois, Hannah and Nancy went up to Wesleys in afternoon. Rained some, hot forenoon, 93 in shade.
Aug 22 – Hot, 98 in shade. Worked in shop some. Edwin Flanders got Buggy wheels. Got the paint.
Aug 23 – Ethan and I dressed out spokes for lumber wagon. Mrs Streator and Nell here. Ida barber came over stayed all night. Cool, 78 in shade. Ground Mr Flanders plane Irons.
Aug 24 – At home all day. Ida Barber here. Dell and Lois came up at night. Henry called here. Carry Plank came in Evening, stayed all night. Wes here. Mr and Mrs Brown came up. Charles Lee and Alvin came up after colts. Hot, 96 in shade.
Aug 25 – Hot and dry. Nancy left for Muir ten minutes past Eight. Alfleda came Back this morning. Hannah went Kalamazoo with Nancy, lost her Parasol. Carry Plank went down to Mr Allertons. Rained North and south of us, no rain here.
Aug 26 – Cloudy and cool morning. Worked on spokes. Went over to burg in morning. Got order on Treasurer for 82 and 60.100 Dollars. Wesly went to Kalamazoo got the money. Got two pigs of A. Brown. Edwin Flanders got their new Roller. Paid Wesley one Dollar and sixty cents out of school money.
Aug 27 – Mended Parasol for Mr David Bronson and one for Louesa. M. O. Streator called here to see Alfleda.
Aug 28 – Ethan gone Down to Catharines with Henry. I am repairing old table. Not very well, sick all night. Picknic over to Pickerel Lake. The Galesburg Band went.
Aug 29 – Warm morning. Ethan worked sum on bobs.
Aug 30 – Ethan got out beams for bobs. Jim pulled beans. I repaired barnyard fence. Jo Lee brot Hellen and Vinny up in afternoon. Rainy night. Jo Lee went over to burg carried over lot Eggs. Got shugar 7 doz.
