Luke Keith’s diary entries for February 28 – March 2, 1860

Feb 28 – Rainy. At home. Nelly[34] sick. Saw Wm Sprague. Sarah Crittenden[35] came down.

Feb 29 – Some rainy. Went down to Chaddocks[36]. Carried Sarah. Mrs Kendall visited _____.

Mar 1 – Rainy. Mended stove. Went up to shop with Dr Sprague[37]. Nelly very sick with scarlet fever.

Mar 2 – Pleasant & windy. Horse Excitement at the village. Saw a number of old friends.

[34] Nelly Tomlinson, the daughter of George and Marion (Sprague) Tomlinson. Nelly was about five years old at the time

[35] Sarah (Curtis) Crittenden. Sarah was the widow of Luke’s second wife Jerusha’s brother, Henry Crittenden
